How To: Correctly Position Car Mirrors

Do you know how to position your car’s mirrors?

Doing this simple task correctly may save you from having an accident on the road so make sure you are doing it correctly!

Steps on positioning your car’s mirrors:

Step 1: Side mirrors

Let’s start with the side mirrors:

  • You can adjust these with little levers in your car. Newer cars have one central control and in older cars, you’ll have to do this by hand.
  • For both of your side mirrors, you need to be able to see the road behind you and a tiny section of your car.
  • These do not replace your blind spot, (it’s called a blind spot for a reason), so even with perfect positioning, you need to check your blind spot.

Step 2: Rear mirrors

Now, the rear mirrors:

  • Just make sure that the entire rear-view window is visible in the mirror.
  • While you may have something interesting on the back seat of your car you don’t need your rear-view mirror to be looking at it.

Step 3: Remember your seat adjustment

A final tip! Do your mirror adjustments after your seat adjustments, otherwise, you will have to do it all over again! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚β
